Hospital Radio Medway scores for listeners

Hospital Radio Medway scores a new goal for listeners this Saturday, with the start of live coverage of Gillingham Football Club's home matches.

Live reports from Priestfield Stadium will be broadcast to patients in Medway Maritime Hospital who tune in to Hospital Radio Medway's new sports programme. Local football fan Pat Carroll will be covering Gillingham's home matches from the terraces. Pat will be broadcasting a pre-match report, plus regular updates and news from the game.

Coverage of the local team's progress in Division 2 is just one of the features of Hospital Radio Medway's new Sports Show, which airs each Saturday at 2pm. Presented by sports fanatic, Darren Francis, the programme will cover all aspects of sport from Premiership football to rugby, horse racing to ice hockey. Darren says: "It is really exciting for Hospital Radio Medway to add live coverage of Gillingham's matches to its broadcasting. Now, Gills fans don't have to miss out on the action, because they can tune their bedside radios into us and keep fully up-to-date."

Hospital Radio Medway broadcasts requests, news, information and entertainment to patients throughout Medway Maritime Hospital each weekday from 4pm til midnight and all day at the weekend. Staffed entirely by volunteers, HRM is currently celebrating its 30th year of local broadcasting.
