When id Software created Wolfenstein 3D, they started the first in a very long franchise. It was followed by Doom 1, Doom 2, Quake, Quake 2, Quake 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein and Doom 3. These are some of the biggest selling and most groundreaking games ever created. The next installment is Quake 4, which continues the story from where Quake 2 left off (Quake 3: Team Arena is ignored for the moment). This game is the most graphically intense Quake game yet and certainly has the most involving storyline.
